Gulf Shores, Alabama, is on the coast near Orange City and Pensacola, Florida. Tourists flock here in the summer, and for good reason: miles of white sandy beach, and all the attractions you expect from a beach resort area.

Warning

Campgrounds fill up in a hurry in spring and summer, so it is best to make reservations. There is beachfront camping, as well as camping on the inland waterway.

Gulf State Park

Island Retreat

Southport Campground

Southport Campground offers RV sites, as well as primitive camping on a lagoon. Phone number is 251-968-6220; website is www.southportcampground.com.

Wales West

Wales West RV Resort is a bit further inland, and has great access to freshwater fishing. The resort also runs a small railway. Phone number is 888-569-5337; website is www.waleswest.com/.

Beech Campers

Beech Campers offers primitive camping on the beach. RV sites are a block off the beach. Phone number is 251-981-4136.
