History
LACSA was established in 1945 by Pan American World Airways. The flag airlines of Costa Rica (LACSA), Guatemala (AVIATECA) and Nicaragua (NICA) were consolidated under Grupo TACA in 1989.
Hubs
LACSA has hubs in San Jose, El Salvador and Lima. The main office of Grupo TACA is in El Salvador.
Branch Offices
LACSA has branch offices in 22 countries. These include Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Fleet
LACSA's fleet consists of 25 Airbus A-320s, nine Airbus A-319s, four Airbus A-321s and three Embraer E-190 jets as of the end of 2008.
Passengers and Employees
LASCA has about 5,500 employees in 39 cities throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. It carries approximately 5.3 million passengers per year, as of 2008.
