Located in Bay County, Lynn Haven, Florida is situated on the Florida panhandle along North Bay. The town is less than 2.5 miles northeast of the popular tourist destination Panama City, Florida.

History

New York Senator W.H. Lynn developed Lynn Haven as a retirement community for Union Army Civil War veterans. On July 1, 1914, the town charter of Lynn Haven went into effect, according to the city's website.

Size

As of March 2010, Lynn Haven Florida had a population of more than 16,700 people, reports the the city's website. The town covers 8.15 square miles of land.

Attractions

The main attraction in Lynn Haven is Lynn Haven Golf Course, which features an 18-hole course. For cyclists, the town is less than 10 miles from the Panama City Ramble, a 20-mile road-biking trail.

The hottest months of the year in Lynn Haven are July and August when average highs reach around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, according to City-data.com. The coolest days are in January and December, where highs average between 60 and 65 degrees.
