Cancun isn't the only vacation destination in Mexico---this North American country is full of vacation spots both for families and individuals. With its varying terrain and climate, Mexico offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor activity.

Weather

Mexico is divided into six different regions, each with its own climate and landscapes. The Pacific Coast, for example, is ideal for water-based activities like surfing and swimming, while Southern Mexico is characterized by forests and marshes.

Water Sports and Tours

Mexico is a popular destination for active sightseers, so many companies offer guided tours---some places, for example, provide kayaking and whale watching tours.

Rock Climbing

The rocky terrain of some Mexican regions provides peak conditions for rock climbers of all skill levels.

Camping

Several of Mexico's national parks, like Parque Nacional Bosencheve, offer family-friendly campsites equipped with amenities like security, lodges and barbecue pits.

Nevado de Toluca

The Nevado de Toluca, an extinct volcano, is now used for outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, mountain biking and hiking.
