Eufaula Alabama Tourism

Eufaula, Alabama, located 90 miles southeast of Montgomery, sits on a high bluff overlooking Lake Eufaula, near the Alabama-Georgia border. The area is known for its numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation, including hiking, fishing, boating and camping.

Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge

This 11,184-acre refuge provides a protected habitat for deer, great egrets, blue herons, migratory neo-tropical songbirds, alligators and many endangered species. Tours are offered for groups of children and adults. Hunting and fishing are allowed.

Creek Indian Trail

The Rails to Trails Conservancy transformed a former railroad track into the mile-long Creek Indian Trail, which takes visitors through natural scenery overlooking Lake Eufaula. Walkers, bikers and pets are allowed.

Lake Eufaula

This 45,000-acre lake, known as the "Big Bass Capital of the World," offers boating, sailing and camping. The lake has many picnic areas, as well as boat ramps and two public marinas.

Lakepoint Resort State Park

Located on the banks of Lake Eufaula, this 1,220-acre park has a lodge and convention center, campground, cottages, an 18-hole golf course and a full-service marina. Dog-friendly cabins are also available.

Dining and Lodging

Eufaula has numerous cafés and family restaurants. Lodging options include traditional hotels and motels, as well as The Candlelight Inn, a bed and breakfast that once was an antebellum Victorian home.
