International air travel takes a little more finesse than flying domestically. However, with some forethought and patience, the obstacles are surmountable and travel outside the U.S. isn't so daunting after all.

On most international flights, two bags may be checked without a charge. Some sports equipment, such as a bike, might be counted as a second bag. Airline websites include charts with allowances and packing restrictions.
