Lincoln City, Oregon Information

Lincoln City, Oregon Information
Lincoln City, Oregon, is a vibrant city on the Oregon coast and is about 90 miles southwest of Portland. As of February 2010, Lincoln City had a population of just more than 8,000. From Devils Lake and Siltez Bay to the miles of expansive coastline and wide-open beaches, Lincoln City is a unique vacation destination.

Go Shopping

Lincoln City is home to the Tanger Outlet Center, a mall with 60 shops that draws thousands of tourists every year. There are also many small shops and eateries in downtown Lincoln City.

Fly a Kite

Lincoln City has three kite festivals each year and was named by Kitelines Magazine as one of North America's best places to fly a kite due to its location on the 45th parallel, where warm equatorial air and cold polar air collide to create ideal conditions for flying kites. Don't have your own kite? Pick one up from one of the many shops in town.

Go Exploring

Even during the beautiful, sunny summer months, Lincoln City's beaches don't feel overcrowded, probably because there are more than seven miles of wide-open beaches to explore. For an inland adventure, go check out the 680-acre Devils Lake, head to the Siletz Bay or cruise to the south end of the city to visit Boiler Bay.

Recreation

Besides the usual coastal activities---beach combing, fishing, kite flying, shopping and relaxing---Lincoln City has golf courses and hiking trails. There is also a casino in town---Chinook Winds Casino Resort, at the north end of Lincoln City.

Lodging

There are dozens of hotels, bed and breakfasts and vacation rentals in Lincoln City, many of them on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Tent and RV campgrounds are also plentiful in town.
