The Pocono Mountains, located in northeast Pennsylvania, are a very popular destination for outdoor types. During the winter, the Poconos are renowned for skiing and snowboarding, while the summer months offer hiking, cycling, fishing, paintball and other recreational activities.

Hiking and Biking Trails

The Pocono Mountains boasts over 250 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Many of these trails are in the local, state and national parks, such as Big Pocono State Park.

Skiing

Winter enthusiasts enjoy over 165 different slopes and trails in the Poconos, with plenty of options for both downhill and cross-country trail skiers.

State Parks

There are many different state parks in the Pocono Mountains. Indian Mountain Lake, Big Pocono State Park and Lackawanna State Park are three of the largest and most popular state parks in the area.

Water Sports and Recreation

The Pocono Mountains area is known for fine fishing in the rivers and lakes. If fishing isn't your activity, visitors also love to swim, kayak, canoe and jet ski.

The Pocono Mountains area has a wide array of lodging options. Aside from chain hotels, there are many locally owned motels and historic bed and breakfasts.
