Located in the Caribbean, the Bahamas are a chain of islands in the North Atlantic Ocean between Florida and Cuba. From the crowded cruise port and capital city of Nassau to the wildlife sanctuary of Inagua, there is something every family can enjoy.
Things to Do
Parents and kids will enjoy the 141-acre, Mayan-themed Aquaventure at Atlantis water park (www.atlantis.com). There's also the Ardastra Gardens and Zoo (www.ardastra.com) or the Pirates of Nassau museum (www.piratesofnassau.com). Or for an eco-adventure, you can go to one of the Bahamas' 12 national parks.
How to Get There

You can take a short flight from Florida to the Bahamas. Or you can consider a cruise, which will offer plenty of activities for adults and children.
Where to Stay
If you don't choose a cruise, the Atlantis Paradise Island resort offers activities for kids of all ages, as well as deals such as free companion airfare with a four-night stay.
What to Bring
In addition to sunscreen, games, toys and snacks, you'll need to make sure you have passports for every member of your family before you leave (see Resources). All U.S. children, including infants, must have a passport for international travel.
