History
Air India Express was founded in May 2004. The airline's inaugural flight, from Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi, took place April 29, 2005.
Fleet
As of 2009, Air India Express' fleet of aircraft is comprised entirely of Boeing 737-800s. Each aircraft can seat 189 passengers.
Destinations within India
Air India Express operates daily flights between Mumbai and the following cities: Kochi, Kozhikode, Delhi, Chennai, Pune and Nagpur. It operates daily flights between Delhi and the following cities: Jaipur, Amritsar, and Lucknow.
Daily service is also available between Nagpur and Ahmedabad; from Chennai to Hyderabad and Thiruchirapalli; from Kozhikode to Kochi and Thiruvananthpuram; and between Kochi to Thiruvananthpuram.
Destinations in Southeast Asia
Air India Express offers service from India to Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand; Columbo, Sri Lanka; and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Desitations in the Middle East
Air India Express offers service to the following locations in the Middle East: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Al Ain, United Arab Emirates; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; Bahrain; Doha, Quatar; Kuwait; Muscat, Oman; and Salalah, Oman.
