The center of the city, or "city centre" of Tours offers a number of attractions. Whether you are looking for fine dining or a stroll through history, this transportation hub for the Loire Valley has much to offer.

Location

Tours is located in the centre region of France, in the Loire Valley.

Accommodations

The heart of the city offers a number of hotels, such as Best Western Central, Mondial and Hotel de l'Univers, with varied price ranges

Museums

A number of museums are available such as Musee des Beaux-Arts (fine arts), Musee du Compagnonnage (guilds), Musee du Vin (wine) and Hotel Gouin (archaeology).

Religious Interest

Basilique St. Martin (medieval abbey) and Cathedrale St. Gatien offer architectural history and beauty.

Restaurants

Les Tuffeaux and Rive Gauche offer rich menus. Be sure to sample some of the local Loire Valley wines.

Getting Around

Tours is a walking city, but taxis and car rentals are available. Trains run directly to Tours as well as a regular bus service.
