Riva del Garda Tourist Information

Riva del Garda Tourist Information
Riva del Garda is a picturesque little town in the province of Trento (Italy) on the shores of Lake Garda. The surrounding majestic mountains and deep blue water make it a feast for the eyes.

Places to Visit

The Apponale Tower, from before the 13th century, dominates the waterfront area. The Rocca (fortress) was built in 1124 and is set in the lake, with a drawbridge that connects it to the mainland.

Things to Do

The late afternoon wind makes Riva del Garda excellent for windsurfing. Boats can be rented or tourists can sunbathe or swim on the long stretch of beach.

Transport

The Lake Garda ferries will take you to any of the other towns around the lake. The hydrofoil is quick but more expensive. A direct bus service goes to Verona, and during summer months, a daily bus service makes day trips to Venice.

Accommodations

Accommodation is ample and varies from a very basic and affordable youth hostel to a superior four-star hotel that includes a spa and wellness center.

Where to Eat

Budget pizzerias, pasta restaurants, fish restaurants, French fine dining and original Italian cuisine a few of the available choices.
