What Is the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon?
Located between North Interstate Avenue, Northeast Wheeler Avenue and North Winning Way in downtown Portland, Ore., the Rose Quarter is a large entertainment complex that is home to many special events year round.

Types of Venues

The Rose Quarter is home to the Rose Garden, the Memorial Coliseum, the Theater of the Clouds, the Exhibit Hall and the Rose Quarter Commons.

Size

The largest facility in the Rose Quarter is the Rose Garden, which holds 20,000 spectators. The Theater of the Clouds is a smaller and more intimate space that seats 6,500 people.

Features

The National Basketball Association Portland Trail Blazers, the National Lacrosse League Portland Lumber Jax and the Western Hockey League Winterhawks all play in the Rose Garden. The Exhibit Hall is home to expos and has seven large rooms available for meetings.

History

The Memorial Coliseum was the first venue to open in the Rose Quarter in 1960. The new Rose Garden opened in 1995 after the completion of the $262 million construction project.

Parking

The Rose Quarter features five parking lots with more than 2,600 spaces. The average cost of parking is $6 to $13 depending on the event.

Events

The Rose Quarter takes its name from the Rose Festival, Portland's largest annual event, which typically occurs in late May through early June. Parts of the festival has taken place in the Rose Quarter area since 1907.
