Disney Florida Information

Disney Florida Information
The theme parks of Walt Disney World (WDW) offer both real and simulated experiences for the outdoors lover. For example, you can cruise the imitation jungle rivers of the world or hurtle down a waterslide into a refreshing pool.

Getting There

The nearest airport is Orlando International, which offers both free and paid shuttles to WDW, depending on the hotel you booked. You can drive to the resort using Interstate 4, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

Camping

You can camp at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, which sprawls over 700 acres of pine and cypress. You can pitch a tent or hook up your RV at a camping site with a picnic table, charcoal grill and hookups for water and electricity. See Resources for details.

Water Parks

Water lovers will enjoy Blizzard Beach, with waterslides designed for the whole family, or the rapids, rivers and waterways of Typhoon Lagoon. Renting lockers is recommended for securing your possessions and keeping them dry.

Sports

Play traditional sports such as baseball, tennis and basketball at the Wide World of Sports, which also has a cross-country course and a track-and-field complex.

Prices

Expect to pay a minimum of $82 a night for onsite lodging and at least $33 a day for weeklong tickets. A Disney Dining Plan confines your food spending to a set amount of dollars each day. See Resources for more information.
