London Airport Transportation

London Airport Transportation
When traveling into or leaving London you will use one of four airports. It is important to understand how to travel between your accommodation and your designated airport because not every airport is located in central London.

Tube

The biggest airport in London is Heathrow International, and this is the easiest airport to reach because it has a direct line on the Tube. This is called the Heathrow Express line, and many airlines offer a tube ticket with the airfare.

Coach

Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow airports can all be reached by coaches. National Express buses offer direct buses to all four airports.

Car Rental

At each airport you can rent or "hire" a car. It is expensive, and you will need an international driver's license to drive in England.

Taxi

Taxis are an expensive but convenient way to travel to any London airport. The best part is that you do not have to pick a taxi up at a stop; it picks you up.

Trains

Gatwick Airport can be reached by the Thameslink train that leaves from London Bridge, King's Cross and Farringdon.
