Indianapolis is located in Indiana, a Midwestern state that has seen some bouts of extreme weather over the years. Typically, the weather and climate here are predictable: warm summers and cold winters are nothing out of the ordinary, and four seasons are the norm.

Temperature

Temperatures range from approximately 15 degrees F in the winter to 75 degrees F during the summer.

Rainfall

The city sees a good amount of rain, above the national average, from April through August. July, which sees the highest amount, can bring nearly 4.5 inches of rain.

Snowfall

Indianapolis sees more snow than the national average. Snowfall can reach close to 7 inches in December and January.

Bad Weather

Indianapolis can get some extreme storms. Being in the Midwest, it can also see tornadoes during warmer months.

Sunshine

Regardless of snow and rain, Indianapolis does have plenty of sunshine. Between June and September, more sunlight is seen than during other months.
