Types of Visas for Ireland
Traveling from America to Ireland, you will need a valid passport. However, if you plan on staying for more than 90 days you will need to apply for a visa.

Tourist

If you are traveling to Ireland from the United States, you do not need a visa unless you plan on staying more than three months. However, if you are traveling from outside of the U.S., Canada, Australia or the European Union, you will need a visa to enter the country.

Business

If you are attending Ireland for a business trip, conference or any other work-related experience, you will not need a visa unless you plan on staying for more than three months or are coming from a country that requires a visa for entry.

Studying

Studying abroad in Ireland can be an exciting experience for students. Those students traveling from America to Ireland must obtain a visa if their studies last more than 90 days.

Working

Those interested in working in Ireland must obtain a visa if coming from a country outside the European Economic Area. Workers must also obtain a work permit and apply for employment through the Irish Embassy.

Working Holidays

Young adults from Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, New Zealand and Australia may apply for an an extended working holiday in Ireland. Those interested do not need to obtain a visa unless they are coming from a country that requires a visa for entry to Ireland.
