Malaysia Airline Baggage Information

Malaysia Airline Baggage Information
If you're flying on Malaysia Airlines, you should learn its baggage requirements. Knowing the rules as you plan your trip and pack your luggage will help make your flight more enjoyable.

Check-in

Advance check-in allows you to drop off your bags and tag them eight hours before takeoff. Regular check-in is available from 4 a.m. to noon daily at Malaysian Airlines counters.

Limits

The maximum weight for checked luggage is 70 pounds per bag. If your bag weighs more than that, the airline will ask you to move some of your items to another bag. For information about bulky items such as musical instruments or sporting equipment, call the airline's New York office at (212) 697-8994.

Loss or Damage

If you're baggage is lost, stolen or damaged, report it to the lost and found office at the airport you're flying to or from. If you left something on the plane, contact airport personnel immediately.

Carry-ons

Along with a carry-on bag, you can bring several items on the plane, including a handbag, purse or pocket book. You can also bring cameras, binoculars, books, cell phones, portable music players, laptop computers, coats and blankets.

Pets

Pets aren't allowed in the cabin. They may travel in the cargo hold as special excess baggage.
