Death Valley National Park

Death Valley is located just east of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Death Valley was first established as a National Monument in 1933 by Herbert Hoover. In 1994, with the passage of Desert Protection Act, Death Valley officially became a national park. There is a visitor center and park museum, located at Furnace Creek. read more
