THE go-to all weather commuting tire
This is one great tire. A nail through the sidewall will do you in, but otherwise glass/debris on the road is never an issue. These also handle awesomely rain or shine, and when I mean rain I mean heavy rain.

Great Tires
I switched to GP 4000's a few years ago & have loved it ever since. Very few flats, maybe 1 a year if that. Caveat: I check for embedded glass weekly & treat myself to new tires about yearly. Not sure how many miles they'll go till complete failure FYI.Since 2008 I've gone on 1-4 tours/year, and I believe these tires have made touring all the better.

Best Tire for all year riding.
Great all around tire for winter training, racing, etc. It may not be the lightest tire, but it has great durability, great traction, low rolling resistance, and is very comfortable for the miles ahead. I will never go back to another tire.

Third set and counting!
This is the third set of GP 4000 S's that I have purchased and when these wear out, I'll be buying another set! I live in the Sierra Mountains and corner handling on hairpins is crucial and a high speed flat will send you over the side, I have complete faith in these tires for all my riding!

One of the best out there
The Conti Gran Prix 3000 were on my Cinelli when I bought it; they wore very well and were highly puncture resistant. I believe I only had one flat on the rear during the time I owned them. I got something like 3k miles out of the rear tire. Just bought the 4000s last year and after another 3k miles, the rear still has maybe another 500-1000 before I replace it. Probably one of the best tires of this type I've ever owned.
