Fair but unpackable
I purchased this and an eton scorpion crank radio to potentially use for camping and hiking. This one had better reviews but they didn't address use for backpacking. The eton had mixed reviews but seemed more suited to backpacking. This is lighter than the eton, but bulky --- difficult to pack. I tested both at home and then again in Gunnison, CO. While in town they both performed well and got decent reception. However, when we got to our campground (about 15-20 miles outside of Gunnison)the day before heading out on the trail, the eton got better reception. Love, Love, Love This Radio!
This radio moves around the house with me. I use it in the kitchen, bathroom, and dining room, and then I take it outside when weeding and watering the plants;in these instances I use the solar feature. When I go to bed, I give it a few cranks, place it on my nightstand and drift off to sleep without worrying about wasting power. All three bands -- AM, FM, and weather come in just great. Retro look New age performance
Got this sweet radio with the intent of using it mostly at home. 911 but also to listen to the radio from time to time. The reception is amazing and I'll be listening to some BBall games for sure. The light is great for 911 and also helpful when camping. The charger really works. Both of them. I've never put in batteries and never had trouble. I really like the look of this thing too. Retro is such a good way but super light too. There are so many uses for this radio highly recommend it. High quality to the max.

Ballpark radio
It works well for what I wanted, which was a radio I could take to the ballpark so my friend and I can hear radio commentary from our seats. It's also sounded good when I've tested it by setting it on my dining room table.
