Very good poles
I received these trekking poles as an early birthday present and used them recently on a backpacking and hiking trip on the AT. The poles performed very well. They are half the weight of my previous poles and were very comfortable to use. The grip felt very good in my hands and did not rub any blisters in the palm of my hand (my previous poles would rub or begin rubbing a blister in my palms). The padded straps are extremely comfortable and I really like the easy of adjustment. The flicklock works great and there was no slippage what so ever. I thoroughly enjoyed these poles and look forward to many good years of use on the trail.

Anti-shock and Locks finally together
I'd been looking for a hiking stick that had anti-shock and locks. At this point in time it's a hard request to fill. I have multiple fusions and the anti-shock is a must have when I hike, it cushions the impact on my spine and knees. Sadly in snow or other conditions, I found the twist sticks to "unlock" on their own. Not an impressive trait. Much cursing, shaking or throwing of said twist sticks ensued when they automatically adjusted their own length. Black Diamond has finally filled the bill with a locking anti-shock stick. While the price isn't small and the weight isn't as light as I'd prefer, I am glad to see this combination finally hitting the market. Thank you BD.

Good all purpose poles
Bight these for my girlfriend and I at my local REI store and they work fairly well. I bought me to use on intermediate to difficult day hikes and (possible) Iight skiing. They worked great for the 5 miles we used them on and expect to get a whole lot more out of them. Flick-lock is super easy to use, and at 6' they feel great. The trail shock absorber is a little odd at first, but does reduce some strain on the elbows. Handle is not cork but does fit very well in the hand and the padded wrist straps do ease the cord pressure around the rist. One draw back is They don't come with a storage sack but shrink up enough so it is not a big deal. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase!
