The lengths are inaccurate
When I apply the length indicators on the shafts they produce poles of different lengths.

Really glad I bought them...
I just finished a 10 day, 80 mile trip with a 45 lb pack. I probably wouldn't have completed the trip without these poles. When climbing steep or challenging terrain they were absolutely essential for balance and to help me climb. I carried them in my hands on flat terrain, but when going up or down they gave me a critical advantage. On one stretch we had to head up a stream and navigate boulders and slick rocks in rain and hail. Without these poles I probably would have been injured – they provide that much stability. At 6'3 and 250 lbs, they always felt solid, even when I slipped and put all of my weight on them. I had tried poles

Excellent Product.
While the Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Trekking Poles may seem pricey, they are worth every penny and more. I bought this pair for my wife after having used the same pair for 3+ years. My initial reason for purchasing trekking poles was to aid in my recovery post knee surgery to repair a damaged meniscus, but rapidly fell in love with my poles which allowed me to climb as fast as I walk on level ground and feel confident coming down hill alleviating the concern of re-injuring my knee. I currently use them on every hike regardless of length or elevation change, allowing me to travel significantly greater distances per day and at a more rapid pace. When traveling uphill it is like having 4-wheel drive because you are using both arms and legs to advance up the hill. The Ergo grip angle really helps out by keeping the poles in their proper placement while simul

Work great
My first set of trekking poles. My knees aren't what they used to be, I figured it was time to try some of these. Picked these based on their high rating from others and their light weight.I've used these on several 15+ mile day hikes and can say I like them. They are indeed lightweight, easy to expand and collapse, and I find the straps/grips to be comfortable. The bottom sections slipped a little initially, but were fixed with a simple turn of the adjustment screw. And my knees feel much better after hiking when I use these!

Super First Poles
I researched poles before buying these. I love the way the poles adjust and they stay tight. I will never go hiking without poles again. They are lightweight and really do take stress off knees on descents.

So far, so good
After borrowing trekking poles several times, I finally bought the Black Diamond poles. They were on sale, plus I used REI dividend dollars, so I got a pretty good deal. I got the cork handled ones, which seemed much lighter thatn the rubber. So far they have worked great - no problem with the locking clips and they didn't seem too heavy. However, my hiking friend does have much lighter and MUCH more expensive poles, which felt fantastic. This is the only reason why I did not rate 5 stars - there are indeed lighter alternatives. But great value in this purchase.

Great Poles
I purchased these poles for an upcoming backpacking trip. I've used them on several practice hikes to get ready for the trip. They've worked great and are easily adjusted. The canted ergonomic grip is very comfortable. I find the poles especially helpful on uphill sections.

Did the Trick
Bought these poles to take to the Andes for a 6 day high alpine trek. I never used poles for trekking before but wanted something to help with the downhill but not be too heavy or cumbersome to carry when not in use. Worked perfectly!!

Best so far.
The cork handles is what sold me and I'm not disappointed.

Happy So Far
Used these on two 10 mile hikes and so far I'm really pleased with their performance. The ergo grip is great when going down hill and the cork grip feels great in the hand. No problems with slippage and over time I feel these will conform right to my grip. The straps are very comfortable and do a great job locking your hand t

Great Poles
These poles are a must for any hike or pack trip. They provide great stabiity and are lightweight enough so that I don't even notice the weight when I'm not using them. They have been through a lot since I got them and they barely show any wear. The cork gripe feels great against the palm after a long hard day of hiking and the cork never gets slick.

No Complaints, Top Notch Product
So these are among the first things I bought when I began to get gear for my trip to Kilimanjaro, these trekking poles are fantastic. The cork grips I was told by one of the sales people at rei are second to none in regards to grip. They worked wonderfully on the whole trek, They are also easy to adjust and very lightweight. Don't leave for a hike without em!
