Black Diamond Momentum SA Climbing Harness

At my first visit to REI, one of my friends suggested to me to buy my own harness. We found the Momentum. It was reasonably priced (45 after tax) so I decided to go with it. I had no previous knowledge of climbing equipment. I used this harness A LOT this past summer. I used it for belay, rappel, zip line, high ropes, and climbing walls. It performed great! I liked the gear loops a lot. I found that they were useful for things like a radio, water bottle, keys, and other gear. The harness was comfortable if I fell from the high ropes(a fall of about 3-4 feet) or the climbing wall(3-4 feet) or even from the zip line. Very sturdy harness. I didn't get sweaty or anything even after belaying for 3-4 hours. I'm 6'4" and average build, and the large size harness fit me very comfortably

This is a great value for the money. Excellent harness for indoor and sport climbing. I like the speed adjust buckle, makes getting in and out much faster and easier.Cannot really comment on durability since it was purchased just few months ago, but I dragged it through some chimneys, so far without problems.It doesn't feel very comfortable to me when sitting in it for longer periods of time (on hanging belays), so I would not really recommend this for big wallsIt's light and compact enough that it would probably work for mountaineering, but I prefer my BD Couloir there.If you're tight on budget, this is a very good all-arounder, but not only that. It is my first choice for indoor and weekends at the local crags

I use it in the gym and sport climbing. Cannot complain, for versatility and price it's the harness to get.

great padding and was really good with my gear (13 pounds of gear). really durably has not broken yet after a 20 foot exposer fall. if your hiking 20 miles to your climb this is so light in your day pack.

This harnes I bought for the rated tail hitch. I love using it for training. After about 4 hours I have to loosen it a bit but it stays tight with no problem. I rated it a 4 because of the comfort

Great harness, easy to put on and has everything you would need for a typical day of craggin. Love the speedy buckle adjustment. I wouldn't want to sit in a hanging belay for too long in this thing. For the price you can't go wrong here though.

I am a 5'11" male with a 33-34" waist. I purchased the large version of this harness expecting it to fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the harness would not fit centered. If you center the front loops the back of the harness is off center (to the right). The rear leg straps would also be off center with the strap for the left let being above the right buttock. It is as though the harness was meant

This harness is super comfy. The pads are thin and light, but surpsingly comfortable. No circulation cut off, and no hassle putting on. The auto sinching leg straps are extremely convenient and overall the harness fits extraordinarily well. Definitely worth the price!

I like the simplicity and the price point. Overall fun harness a very grab and go deal. I do not like the leg loops however. Little to no adjustability. It does what i ask it to do, indoor climbing, fast and easy.

This harness was rather inexpensive, which is good and bad. Because you get what you pay for. The leg loops are really hard to adjust. The waist belt only adjust on one side so if its too big or too small it will trow the leg loops and gear racks and everything else off center which doesn't really effect much other than how it looks. It is also hard to get on and off, the waist belt has an auto double backer which is nice but it doesn't slide easy so its hard to get on and off.
