Black Diamond Fusion Ice Tool
The Black Diamond Fusion ice tool uses top-of-the-line technology to create a technical tool worthy of the hardest vertical ice and mixed climbing routes. Using a single piece of hydroformed aluminum, the Fusion eliminates the overlapping sections of metal found in most other technical tools, thereby reducing overall weight. Hydroforming uses pressurized water to expand the shaft into a unique 3D shape that's stiff and light. Shaft shape provides excellent clearance for hooking on small edges and thin ice. Grip is molded over the aluminum shaft and comes with three 5mm spacers that can be used to adjust the grip size to accommodate most hands. Stainless-steel modular head lets you easily swap out picks in the field; head is compatible with all current Black Diamond picks. Tool comes with the chromoly steel Fusion pick (additional picks not included); pick features aggressive front teeth for hooking and a thick design for strength. Stainless-steel hammer adds balance to the tool and can be used to clear ice and debris from a route. Bottom spike can be clipped with the Black Diamond Spinner leash (not included); spike is removable. Shaft and pick are CEN-T certified.
