Description

Black Diamond Couloir Mountaineering Harness

The Black Diamond Couloir mountaineering harness weighs only 230g (8 oz.) and packs down so small you can carry it in a jacket pocket. Harness is ideal for glacier climbs and ski mountaineering. Quick-release leg loops allow for easy on and off while wearing skis or crampons. 2 webbing gear loops and 4 Ice Clipper slots let you rack your climbing gear and ice screws; Black Diamond Ice Clipper is sold separately. Low-profile webbing allows the harness to be worn comfortably under a pack or over clothing. Belay and haul loops are rated at 15 kN.

Stitching came out the first trip

Be weary of this product. I personally do not own this harness but a friend bought one and took it on a one climb and the stitching was coming out after day 1! I know sometimes there can be product lemons but on a harness you need to be pretty sure you are getting quality.

sizing

May want to size up. I have not used this but wanted to make a note about sizing: All my pants are a 32" waist so I ordered the S/M - described to fit a waist from 28-35". Once it arrived, the s/m barely fit over a pair of pants with the widest possible waist and would definitely not fit over thermals and ski pants. Otherwise, it packs incredibly small, and very light so I'm looking forward to getting the right size for upcoming ski/climbing season.

Great harness

I recently climbed Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier with the Black Diamond Couloir mountaineering harness and it performed great. Never needed adjustment and fit great. It's easy to put on and tough as nails.
