Aqua-Bound Manta Ray Paddle

Designed for the high-angle paddling style, the Aqua-Bound Manta Ray paddle's broad blades supply huge bite and power for athletic touring, workout paddling and racing. Combination of aluminum shaft and fiberglass-reinforced nylon blades deliver a flutter-free, high-power stroke with easy swing-weight. Wide, asymmetrical dihedral blade face is optimized for the high-angle paddling style. Grooves on the ferrule prevent sand and sludge build-up, maintaining a tight, trouble-free ferrule for years of use. 2-piece design of the Aqua-bound Manta Ray paddle breaks down for easy storage and transport. Feathering is adjustable to 60-degrees right-hand control or unfeathered.

Great paddle but...

Used w/Tomcat inflatable kayak on 20 mile class II+ river and had some small chipping on blade from inevitably hitting rocks. Nice paddle, but maybe not for this type of paddling

Solid dependable paddle

The Manta-Ray aluminim was my second paddle,(Sting-Ray carbon was my first.) for a 17' sea kayak on flatwater lakes around central Tennessee.I bought it because I need a larger blade for more power and a higher paddling angle. I feel the wider blade makes a significant increase in speed, without a corresponding increase in effort.The slip joint is tight, and I did something no slightly damage in so it's not harder to assemble than when I first got it, but not enough so to bother trying to fix it.My one dislike is the texture on the shaft tends to feel very "sticky" against my sweaty hand
